Residents Discuss Ongoing Challenges Stemming from COVID-19 in August Bulletin

The August Bulletin of the American College of Surgeons is now available online. This annual special issue, featuring articles by members of the Resident and Associate Society of the ACS (RAS-ACS), describes the unique, ongoing challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic that have affected education, training, and the transition to practice for residents and early career surgeons.

In the issue’s cover story, three RAS-ACS leaders—Vice-Chair Julia Coleman, MD, MPH, Chair Yewande Alimi, MD, MHS, and Secretary Kaitlin Ritter, MD—review how the pandemic was an unprecedented stressor on surgeons-in-training and describe two RAS-ACS surveys that probed the effects.
