Defining quality care for more than 100 years
The American College of Surgeons is dedicated to improving the care of the surgical patient and to safeguarding standards of care in an optimal and ethical practice environment.
Three groups are responsible for formulating and implementing the policies of the College.
The Regents formulate policy and direct the affairs of the College.
The Governors act as the liaison between the Board of Regents and the Fellows.
Local ACS Chapters exert the College’s influence at the community level, with 65 in the US, two in Canada, and 46 in countries abroad.
The ACS Foundation is focused on funding initiatives that improve surgical care—whether it’s educational programs, Operation Giving Back, expanding ACS Chapters, or supporting quality research projects. Learn more about our Foundation's initiatives and how you can give back.
