Advocating for regulations that improve surgical practice
Our mission at the ACS is to help surgeons provide care that improves patient outcomes. For that reason, our regulatory strategies are focused on physician and facility payment, quality, value-based care, digital health, coding, billing, and reimbursement practice.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services publishes rules to establish or modify the way the agency administers its programs, including Medicare Physician Fee Schedule rule, Inpatient Prospective Payment rule, Outpatient Prospective Payment System rule, Medicare Advantage and Part D rules, and the No Surprises Act.
Our decades of experience designing and implementing the ACS Quality Programs informs our advocacy efforts in the transformation of patient-centered value-based care. All physician and facility payment rules incorporate elements of value-based care, including quality and cost/price.
