The Board of Governors is the representative body of the ACS, and its members serve a critical role as liaisons between the Board of Regents and the Fellows. They bring forth the voices and views of their surgical colleagues and develop resources to support Fellows.
The Executive Committee of the Board of Governors has eight members who coordinate with the Board of Regents and collaborate with ACS Divisions. They hold monthly conference calls, host Governor orientation webinars and meetings, and plan the Annual Business Meeting.
The Board of Governors is structured under six Pillars and 13 Workgroups. These include Education and Diversity Pillars along with Workgroups focused on best practices, surgical training, and more.
