American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

ABS and MIPS 2019 Reminder

Dear SSR Participant,

As a reminder, the American College of Surgeons Surgeon Specific Registry™ (ACS SSR) helps fulfill American Board of Surgery (ABS) Continuous Certification requirements. The ABS requires the submission of a 12-month operative log at least every 10 years, which can also be done through electronic transfer from the SSR.

Review our instructional resource on the SSR Operative Log Transfer to the ABS. Please be sure that your procedure location(s) are set up and selected for each case as you prepare to transfer data to the ABS. If your procedure location(s) need to be updated within the SSR, here's how:

Go to Form ManagementCustom ListsProcedure LocationCreate New to add a Procedure location. (Download instructions)

Additionally, the SSR still allows you the option to participate in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) for the 2019 performance year. You can still sign up for MIPS 2019 using the SSR. The deadline for entering and approving your MIPS 2019 data submission is Friday, January 3, 2020.

Verify now your MIPS 2019 "Final Eligibility" using the Check Participation Status tool.

Visit our SSR website for more information about MIPS 2019 participation, including requirements, specifications, and instructional resources.
