The Young Fellows Association (YFA) represents the interests of young surgeons under the age of 45, and provides a forum for them to shape the future of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and their specialty.
- Become a leader in ACS Chapters, Committees, and Advisory Councils.
- Serve on one of four YFA workgroups: Advocacy, Communications, Education, and Member Services.
- Serve as a leading voice on advocacy and health policy issues that impact surgical care at the national and local level.
- Gain access and free subscriptions to all ACS periodicals and newsletters, access ACS members-only information on the ACS website and our careers site, and obtain free use of ACS Surgeon-Specific Registry to track surgical cases and outcomes.
- Provide the ACS with a unified Young Fellows perspective.
- Advocate for young surgeons within the ACS.
- Hear from, meet, and engage the leaders of American surgery.
- Develop mentor-mentee relationships within the ACS.
- Develop personal leadership skills and qualities that will enhance your surgical care and professional work.
- Experience the camaraderie and collegiality of getting to know other Young Fellows from across the country and internationally, which will lead to lifelong friendships.
