New Resources from Trauma Programs

The ACS TQIP Best Practice Guidelines aim to provide recommendations for managing patient populations or injury types with special considerations to trauma care providers. The TQIP Best Practices Project Team and a panel of guest experts create each guideline from evidence-based literature when available and consensus of the group when evidence is lacking.

As part of the Hartford Consensus meetings, the need for an external hemorrhage control program for lay personnel was identified as a priority. These materials were developed in conjunction with the NAEMT. Collaboration with existing PHTLS instructors in encouraged when delivering this important message to the general public.
