The 2025 Quality and Safety Conference marks two decades of collaboration, progress, and dedication to raising the standards of surgical practice and improving patient care. The theme of this year’s conference is “Embracing Change and the Future of Quality.” Change is synonymous with growth; it is not something to resist but rather a force to embrace. The evolution of surgical quality and safety has been driven by those willing to innovate, adapt, and challenge the status quo. This year’s sessions will reflect on the past, assess the present, and explore the future of surgical care, emphasizing the importance of adaptability and resilience in our field.

Jack Becker is a highly decorated, combat proven US Navy fighter pilot.

Renowned as one of the most dynamic keynote speakers in the industry, Jack Becker has spoken to some of the highest-performing organizations in the world including General Electric, Allied Transportation, the American Heart Association, and Truist Bank. His keynotes deliver action-packed lessons of fighter pilot combat missions to instill a culture of continual process improvement. As one of the Navy’s most highly decorated Landing Signals Officers (LSO), Jack was instrumental in incorporating the process improvement model of CRM to help pilots improve quickly while landing supersonic fighter jets on nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.

He was responsible for over 21,000 mishap-free carrier landings. Jack’s unique experience as both an LSO and as the Navy’s top CRM instructor, he saw an opportunity to relay the same skills of Brief-Execute-Debrief-Perfect to the American workplace. From healthcare groups to manufacturing, construction, sales teams, and insurance firms, Jack’s dynamic keynotes, and seminars leave a lasting impression.

The ACS Quality and Safety Conference strives to:

PROVIDE a professional forum to discuss and apply the most recent knowledge pertaining to national, international, and local quality and safety initiatives in the field of surgery.

PRESENT methods used to analyze data from ACS Quality Programs and demonstrate practical ways to use the data for quality improvement.

ASSIST hospitals and providers in managing, analyzing, and interpreting data by providing education on proven methods that will empower hospitals and centers to make a positive impact at their facilities.

ENHANCE the learning experience by offering breakout sessions that educate attendees on the topic areas of their choice and with consideration of their level of programmatic experience.
