American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

The American College of Surgeons Accredited Education Institutes (AEI) is a consortium of comprehensive and focused accredited education institutes.  It offers global opportunities for collaboration, research, and access to resources from fellow Institutes and the ACS Division of Education. Search the list of Consortium members and learn more about the Comprehensive and Focused Accreditation Standards and Criteria.

ACS AEI Consortium Standing Committees are not independent and are governed by the policies and procedures of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and report to the ACS Division of Education. Each Committee has its own vision and mission statements from which it conducts the business of the Committee.

The work of the Consortium is supported by 12 volunteer committees (Administration and Management, Curriculum, Dissemination of Educational Resources for AEIs, Faculty Development, Fellowship, International, Patient Education, Program and Review, Research and Development, Revisions, Technologies and Simulation, and Virtual Grand Rounds), all of which provide resources and education to Consortium Institutes.

Committee members can serve up to two, two-year terms. Additional terms will be approved by the program’s leadership. In addition broad committee representation by AEIs is encouraged. Click on the links to learn more about a specific committee’s vision and mission.
