The Research and Development Committee aims to establish the American College of Surgeons Consortium of Accredited Education Institutes as the leader in simulation-based research that promotes improvements in surgeon performance and patient outcomes. The mission of the committee is to inspire and nurture research and innovation in healthcare simulation.
The Research and Development Committee developed the ACS Principles and Practice for Simulation & Surgical Education Research, published in 2014. This publication aims to provide a one-stop, user-focused simulation and surgical education research manual.
