Trauma Center Programs

All American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) programs serving trauma centers aim to improve care for the injured patient by:

  • Setting standards that define the structures and processes of care
  • Measuring patient outcomes through risk-adjusted benchmarking
  • Promoting best practices
  • Adhering to performance improvement principles

The Trauma Center Programs include the Verification, Review, and Consultation (VRC) Program, Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP), the Annual Call for Data, and Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS).
