Our Trauma Systems Programs aim to improve care for the injured patient in four ways. One, by assessing and evaluating trauma and emergency response systems. Two, by providing consultative guidance for future trauma system development. Three, by building partnerships with the military to translate battlefield lessons to the home front and back again. And four, by creating and sustaining a national trauma system, with a research action plan.
Our consultation program offers you a critical analysis of your current system status including its challenges and opportunities. We also provide you with recommendations for system improvement and enhancement tailored to your specific needs.
In this series of stories, we explore the challenges facing America’s trauma systems. Also included are the steps experts are taking to fill the gaps in the system and achieve zero preventable deaths and disability from injury.
