SSR Practice Improvement Initiative 2022 – Quality Case Data Review and Reflection

The American College of Surgeons Surgeon Specific Registry Practice Improvement Initiative (SSR PII) - Quality Case Data Review and Reflection helps all surgeons to continually collect and review their case data, including outcomes data, by identifying trends, gaps, and performance improvement opportunities. Surgeons will compare their individual data to aggregated data real-time with the purpose of enhancing the quality of surgical care. The SSR PII offers surgeons an opportunity to earn obtain Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit.

Enroll and Register CME Information

January–June 2022 Cycle

We are offering up to 15.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for the review, reflection, and learning with the SSR PII tool from January 2022 through June 2022.

July–December 2022 Cycle

We are offering up to 15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for the review, reflection, and learning with the SSR PII tool from July 2022 through December 2022.

Who Should Participate

All SSR surgeons are eligible and encouraged to participate:

  • Private practice or hospitals
  • Rural and urban settings
  • Practice general surgery or specialty surgery.

Uses of SSR PII - Quality Case Data Review and Reflection
  • Perform review and assessment of your case data continuously using SSR Analytics Reports/ Data Download Report/Benchmarking Report effectively.
  • Quality matters—elevate your surgical quality performance by identifying trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Exchange experiences with the PII peer surgeon group led by PII surgeon moderators and collaborate safely on improved surgical patient care solutions.
  • Utilize PII for American Board of Surgery (ABS) Practice Improvement requirements.
Participate Using the EASE Model
  • Enter your clinically relevant case data.
  • Analyze your quality data continually via SSR Analytics/SSR reports/Benchmarking report.
  • Share what you have learned with your peers on the experience exchange call facilitated by a PII surgeon moderator.
  • Evaluate and identify areas to enhance your practice performance (trends, gaps, improvement actions).
