Quality Programs

Modules

ACS NSQIP doesn't stop at registries—as surgeons get more specialized, so does data. The Vascular Verification Program and Emergency General Surgery Modules use ACS NSQIP to inform the care and treatment of vascular and non-trauma emergent patients, all while improving quality efforts.

Emergency General Surgery Verification Program

The Emergency General Surgery (EGS) Verification Program is a national quality program focused on the care and treatment of patients undergoing emergency general surgical care. This program, developed for the diverse scope of emergency general surgery, brings hospitals the data they need to advance their quality improvement efforts.

Focused on 11 procedural areas within emergency general surgery, the ACS NSQIP EGS Module collects data on both operative and nonoperative management of care. This registry module offers participating hospitals the ability to target the variables most relevant to EGS care using risk-adjusted, benchmarked reports. ACS NSQIP hospitals may access and utilize the EGS Module through their current subscription.

Vascular Verification Program

The Vascular Verification Program is a national quality program focused on both inpatient and outpatient vascular surgical and interventional treatment and care. This program provides an evidence-driven, standardized pathway for establishing and growing quality improvement initiatives that encompass the depth and breadth of scope in vascular surgical care and treatment.

Sites are encouraged to capture their vascular cases within a nationally benchmarked and risk-adjusted clinical registry. This facilitates the availability of high-quality data—an invaluable resource in driving improvement. ACS NSQIP sites may access and utilize the Vascular Module through their current subscription.
