NATIONAL ACCREDITATION PROGRAM FOR BREAST CENTERS

Apply for Accreditation

If your breast center is submitting an application for a site visit in 2022:

Thank you for your interest in NAPBC accreditation. The NAPBC provides the structure and resources you need to develop and operate a high-quality breast center. Programs that are accredited by the NAPBC follow a model for organizing and managing a breast center to ensure multidisciplinary, integrated, comprehensive breast cancer services.

Achieving accreditation by the NAPBC ensures your patients can be confident that your breast care team includes health care professionals from a variety of disciplines who are committed to working together to provide the best care available through their entire course of treatment.

Application Steps

Pre-submission

Download and review the current version of the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers Standards Manual.
Appoint a Breast Program Director and establish a Breast Program Leadership Committee.
Applications should not be submitted until the program has a calendar year of compliance in place.

Submission

Complete and submit the online application.
Electronically sign the ACS Business Associate and Data Use Agreement (BAA/DUA).
Once the application is processed, the primary contact completes the site profile.
After the site profile is completed, the center is invoiced for the annual accreditation fee.

Post-submission

Receive full access to the NAPBC web-based accreditation portal. (Our user guide provides an overview on how to use the NAPBC Quality Portal.)
Center requests dates for a site visit and completes the Pre-Review Questionnaire (PRQ).
Receive formal confirmation of site visit date.
Site reviewer conducts on-site review and submits report to the NAPBC for processing.
Receive survey results/performance report within 45 days of on-site visit.
Promote your NAPBC accreditation.
