On February 19, 2014, health care leaders from across the state gathered for the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Surgical Health Care Quality Forum North Carolina, held at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus. The event was co-hosted by Timothy M. Farrell, MD, FACS, and Mark C. Weissler, MD, FACS.

Esteemed presenters, including keynote speakers William L. Roper, MD, MPH, dean of the school of medicine, vice chancellor for medical affairs; chief executive officer of the UNC Health Care System at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and U.S. Congressman David Price (D-NC4), U.S. House of Representatives, explored how the state’s surgeons, hospitals, health plans, and government leaders can work together to achieve better patient outcomes and increase the value of health care.
