On Friday, October 3, a diverse panel of Utah health care leaders came together at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City for the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Surgical Health Care Quality Forum Mountain Region. The forum featured a panel of regional health care experts who engaged in discussion around best practices for improving patient care, highlighting quality programs that measurably improve patient outcomes and reduce costs.

The event was hosted by Amalia Cochran, MD, FACS, FCCM, associate professor of surgery, University of Utah School of Medicine and President of the ACS Utah Chapter. Brent C. James, MD, MStat, chief quality officer and executive director, Institute for Health Care Delivery Research, Intermountain Healthcare served as the keynote speaker.
