Hurricane Dorian

UPDATE: Hurricane Dorian

Dear Colleagues:

Hurricane Dorian imageThe news reports about Hurricane Dorian's path of sheer destruction through the Bahamas indicates that a major humanitarian crisis may already be under way. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by this overwhelming natural disaster. Operating Giving Back has begun monitoring the situation and we have not yet been contacted by anyone calling for surgeons to serve in disaster relief efforts in the region. However, we will continue to keep a close eye on circumstances in the area using resources available to us.

As this powerful storm is still wreaking havoc while it runs its course over the next couple of days, it may take time until a viable need for services can be assessed and implemented for surgeon volunteers, if needed. We will keep you posted.
