Central Lines Home Skills Kit for Patients

June 29, 2023

The ACS Patient Education Central Lines Home Skills Kit supports caregiver mastery of the complex skills needed for optimal postoperative recovery. Created by multi-association consensus, this program supports the transition from hospital to home. The kit prepares patients for flushing, administering parenteral nutrition and medication, changing dressings and needleless connectors, accessing and de-accessing implanted ports, and problem solving.

The kits include:

  • Practice equipment
  • Instruction booklet
  • Videos
  • Skills assessment checklist
  • Discharge guide
  • Patient evaluation

The Central Lines Home Skills Kits should be eligible for reimbursement with flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and health reimbursement accounts. ACS member pricing is available.
