By now most of you have seen the announcement of my plans to retire from my current position as Medical Director of ACS Cancer Programs.

Following the recent announcement regarding Dr. Nelson’s retirement, the ACS is accepting applications through April 21, for a Medical Director of the ACS Cancer Programs.

Beyond ASK is a yearlong national Quality Improvement project sponsored by ACS Cancer Programs that seeks to build a program’s capacity to offer cessation assistance to newly diagnosed cancer patients who report that they are currently smoking.

The ACS Cancer Programs recognizes cancer registrars during the 27th annual National Cancer Registrars Week, April 3–7.

The ACS Cancer Research Program (CRP) and CoC are conducting the Survivorship Services Survey, to learn more about existing cancer survivorship programs across CoC-accredited programs for patients treated for adult-onset cancer.

The Cancer Surgery Standards Program (CSSP) Education Committee has developed a brief video summarizing the requirements and best practices for compliance with CoC Standard 5.6: Colon Resection.
