The NAPBC has released a new template for documenting compliance with Standard 3.2: Radiation Oncology Quality Assurance. This template is only for programs that do not maintain accreditation for radiation oncology treatment at their facility. The new template is now available in the “Resources” section of the Quality Portal.
Standard 3.2: Radiation Oncology Quality Assurance requires NAPBC-accredited programs to follow recognized quality assurance practices for the safe delivery of radiation oncology treatment. This is accomplished by maintaining accreditation for radiation oncology treatment through an approved provider, or by implementing a facility-based radiation oncology quality assurance plan. The new template provides more precise guidance on developing and documenting the required radiation oncology quality assurance plan.
NAPBC-accredited programs that are accredited for radiation oncology treatment do not need to complete this template. Such programs meet compliance with Standard 3.2 by maintaining their accreditation for radiation oncology treatment.
Questions regarding the NAPBC accreditation standards should be submitted through the CAnswer Forum.
