Surgeons Sowing Hope: Dr. Andrea Hayes Dixon, ACS Regent

October 4, 2022

With Surgeons Sowing Hope as the theme of her presidential year, Julie A. Freischlag, MD, FACS, DFSVS, is asking ACS members how they are sowing hope.  In this week’s discussion, Dr. Freischlag speaks with ACS Regent Andrea Hayes Dixon, MD, FACS, a pediatric surgeon and the recently appointed dean of the Howard University School of Medicine.

Dr. Hayes Dixon speaks about the role that Howard plays as a critical access hospital and how they are engaging with the local community to get residents excited about cancer prevention, health equity, and the health resources they have available that may not have known about.
