On October 15, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) payment adjustment information for the 2024 performance period/2026 MIPS payment year. Through the targeted review process, individual clinicians, groups, subgroups, virtual groups, APM Entities, designated support staff, and authorized third party intermediaries can request that CMS review their final MIPS score and MIPS payment adjustment factor.
To access their MIPS payment adjustment information or request a targeted review, surgeons should:
CMS may require documentation to support the targeted review request. A CMS representative will contact a requestor if necessary. The federal government shutdown will not affect the ability to submit a targeted review request, but it may affect the Agency’s response time.
