The Society of Surgical Chairs (SSC) and the ACS Women in Surgery Committee are hosting a half-day leadership seminar, So You Want to Be a Chair, for mid-career surgeons who have previously applied for chair positions and/or are looking to apply for chair positions as a next step in their career.

Scheduled immediately before the ACS Leadership & Advocacy Summit, the seminar will be on Saturday, February 28, 8:00 am–12:00 pm ET, at the Grand Hyatt Washington, DC. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn from and network with current surgical chairs and have in-depth discussions with other attendees.

A $300 program fee for the seminar includes a printed copy of the Surgical Chairs Playbook and future opportunities to network with SSC members. Attendees are responsible for covering the cost of their travel and lodging. Attendees are encouraged to stay at the Grand Hyatt and attend the 2026 ACS Leadership & Advocacy Summit (registration is now open).

The application deadline for the So You Want to Be a Chair seminar is November 30.
