Outreach and Prevention: Interact, Develop, and Plan Events with Community-Based Organizations

Presented by Shannon Marie Foster, MD, FACS

Monday, August 3, 2020
7:00 pm (Central)

While injury prevention and outreach is a mandate of all trauma centers, working with both hospital and loco-regional programs for the health of the community should be in the mission and skill set of all surgeons. This webinar will impart the process and skills needed to identify, build, and complete injury prevention and outreach programs in your own community and beyond. Another key takeaway and anticipated topic of discussion will be the importance of building diverse relationships as the building blocks to success in prevention, outreach, and practice.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to

  • Identify areas of prevention in your community
  • Recognize the difference between a prevention model and a business model of success—and how to align them
  • Implement the ACS Committee on Trauma mandates of injury prevention
