CME Credit Claiming
Onsite and online claiming of credit for nonticketed sessions will be available at the MyCME booth and kiosks in the Moscone Center next to Registration and inside ACS Central.
Claims for CME credit for this event will be accepted upon completion of the Clinical Congress Global Evaluation.
Residents and allied health professionals are eligible for a Certificate of Completion.
Self-Assessment Credit
Self-assessment credit will be available for Postgraduate Courses. The process of earning self-assessment credit is voluntary and not a prerequisite to claiming CME credit.
Self-assessment credit counts toward American Board of Surgery (ABS) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part 2. For ABS Diplomates, MOC Part 2 requirement applies to those who have not yet completed the first ABS Continuous Certification Program Assessment Exam. Participants are strongly encouraged to complete their self-assessment posttest as soon after attendance as possible.
Credit to Address ACS Accreditation/Verification Requirements
Institutions that are accredited or verified by the American College of Surgeons require staff to earn credits in order to meet compliance and site survey requirements in applicable content areas:

Clinical Congress sessions that include this content are designated as Credit to Address ACS Accreditation/Verification Requirements. When claiming CME credit for these sessions, individuals can elect to include the Credit to Address ACS Accreditation/Verification Requirements, and it will be documented as part of their Clinical Congress transcript. Individuals must check with their institution's office to verify that the content does meet the specific requirements.
Credit to Address Regulatory Mandates

Individuals must check with their state medical board to verify that the content does meet the specific requirements.
Purpose
Clinical Congress is a scientific and educational meeting that shall be held at the time and place of the Annual Business Meeting of the Members and include Convocation (ACS Bylaws, Article VIII, Section 2).
The purpose of Clinical Congress is to keep ACS Members and interested non-Fellow physicians abreast of the current status of the art and science of surgery. To accomplish its purpose, Clinical Congress offers a highly diversified program of continuing education in all specialties of surgery and in important fields of science, socioeconomics, and medical education. It holds the preeminent place among all College activities designed to raise the standards of surgical practice and improve the care of the surgical patient.
The entire program presented at this meeting includes physicians drawn from various specialties. The sessions are designed to present a variety of viewpoints on matters of particular interest to those for whom the session is primarily intended and to stress the need for understanding and cooperation among the specialties.
