Guidelines for Standards in Cardiac Surgery

This report provides guidelines for cardiac surgery standards to be used by hospital executives and appropriate medical staff only. It places no value judgment on existing successful programs or on the treatment of individual patients. The revised statement was developed by the Advisory Council for Cardiothoracic Surgery and approved by the American College of Surgeons' (ACS) Board of Regents in October 1996.

Guidelines for Optimal Ambulatory Surgical Care and Office-Based Surgery

A set of optimal educational guidelines to help the surgeon in the office practice of surgery provide this service to patients in an appropriate manner and in a safe environment.
Developed by the Board of Governors Committee on Ambulatory Surgical Care in May 2000.
