The Surgeons and Engineers Committee aims to work with surgeons, surgical educators, engineers, and scientists to review and evaluate new technologies in simulation-based surgical education. The committee serves as a bridge between the surgeon and engineer communities to improve the quality of simulation-based surgical education.

Annual Surgeons & Engineers: A Dialogue on Surgical Simulation Meeting: The Surgeons and Engineers Committee is the scientific planning committee for the annual Surgeons and Engineers: A Dialogue on Surgical Simulation meeting. This meeting provides a novel forum for the exchange of challenges and potentially applicable technologies between surgeons, surgical educators, engineers, and scientists. Surgeons and surgical educators present the needs and challenges of delivering surgical education. Academic and industry engineers and scientists present existing technologies and those in development that have the potential to be applied to and successfully address the presented challenges.
