American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

SSR Users Update: May 2019

Dear SSR Participants,

Thank you to those American College of Surgeons Surgeon Specific Registry (ACS SSR™) users who collaborated with us on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) mandatory randomized audit for data validation of the SSR Merit-based Incentive System (MIPS) 2018. We have completed the successful MIPS 2018 randomized data validation for CMS and will submit the finalized report to CMS by May 31, 2019.

If you plan to participate in CMS MIPS for the 2019 performance year using the ACS SSR, first verify your eligibility for MIPS 2019 participation using the CMS QPP Participation Status lookup tool. Submitting MIPS 2019 data to CMS will allow you to potentially either avoid a flat 7 percent negative payment adjustment or earn a positive payment adjustment of up to 7 percent in calendar year 2021.

For the 2019 performance year, the SSR has been approved by CMS to provide MIPS Quality participation through individual registry-based reporting, supporting the Quality and Improvement Activities (IA) components. MIPS 2019 participation enrollment is available in the SSR system under the menu item “Regulatory.” You can fully enter all data for MIPS 2019.

Visit the ACS website for more information on MIPS 2019, including educational resources. Also, don’t forget to sign up for a Q & A session starting in early June 2019.

In addition, we have updated the Data Download Reports with additional features and functionality. An overview is included in one of our recent SSR webinars that covered SSR Reports and the new Data Download Reports. Watch the video.

If you have questions, please contact SSR program support at SSR@facs.org or 312-202-5408. Thank you for participating in the SSR and MIPS.
