The Rapid Cancer Reporting System (RCRS) Launch Date

In response to the valued feedback from our accredited cancer programs, the Commission on Cancer's (CoC) National Cancer Database (NCDB) is launching a significant improvement to our technological infrastructure. We are pleased to announce that the Rapid Cancer Reporting System (RCRS) will be going live Monday, September 28, 2020.

In preparation for our Monday, September 28, 2020 go-live date, the NCDB will freeze all applications and data submissions – including RQRS – to allow us to prepare for the data migration from our existing systems to the new platform. All the reporting tools including data submissions will be unavailable September 14-September 28, 2020. Once RCRS is live, programs can submit files using the upload function in the RCRS platform.

The RQRS (v1.1) hyperlink in CoC Datalinks will remain open until January 1, 2021 to allow programs to copy and paste any case level notes from RQRS into RCRS notes. However, submission of case updates will only occur in the RCRS uploader. RCRS will accept data in the current NAACCR v18 format, and file uploads can include new, updated and completed cases (formerly for RQRS or Call for Data files).

To orient all users to the new RCRS platform:

  • Information to enroll for the Wednesday October 28, 2020 RCRS orientation webinar will be forthcoming.
  • Function and report-specific training videos will be posted to the RCRS page of the Cancer Programs website following go live.
  • The ACS Cancer Programs newsletter, Cancer Program News, published every other Thursday, will have the latest updates on RCRS.
  • All communications will be archived and available on the RCRS page of the Cancer Programs website.
