Rapid Cancer Reporting System (RCRS) Quality Measures and Alerts; CQIP Release Update

The Commission on Cancer (CoC) National Cancer Database (NCDB) has identified an emergent issue with processing quality measure cases thanks to the great feedback from the registry community.

Beginning on February 23, 2021, all files uploaded to NCDB did not fully process through the quality measures and alerts algorithms to update the RCRS reporting system.

Files successfully uploaded into RCRS after February 23 experienced a delay in processing, therefore, cases did not update within the standard 72-hour timeline. Due to this backlog, the NCDB is approximately one week behind in the processing of cases into quality measure status in RCRS.

The data submitted during the February 23 to March 3, 2021 time window will be included in the program’s CQIP and have been counted for compliance with monthly submissions standards.

The estimated time of updating the quality measure and alerts reports and populating the CQIP reports is one week.

We are grateful for your dedication to excellence and for your patience while both issues are addressed. Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If you have any question, please contact the NCDB at ncdb@facs.org.
