NCDB Releases Completeness and Default Overuse Report

The Default Completeness and Overuse Report for 2017 diagnosis submitted during the 2019 National Cancer Database (NCDB) Call for Data has been released. This report gives Commission on Cancer (CoC)-accredited cancer programs information about the completeness of required data items. Site-specific reports are available for: Breast, Colon, Rectum, Stomach, and Esophagus and EG junction, Lung, Cervical, Endometrium and Ovary. CoC-accredited cancer programs can access this report through the activity menu in CoC Datalinks, under NCDB Data Transmission.

Users can download an excel file with the list of records and fields for a particular benchmark. These data should be reviewed as part of your overall cancer registry quality control plan (CoC Standard 6.1) and areas to improve data accuracy should be addressed. Facility key, accession number and sequence numbers are included to facilitate record identification. Records that do not meet the benchmark are tagged "x" in the "REVIEW" field.

Aggregate benchmark percentages reflect all active CoC-accredited cancer programs that submitted during the 2019 Call for Data
