American College Of Surgeons - Inspiring Quality: Highest Standards, Better Outcomes

Access ACS Quality and Safety Conference VIRTUAL QI Sessions

Dear Commission on Cancer State Chairs and Cancer Liaison Physicians:

We hope that you had the opportunity to attend the 2020 American College of Surgeons (ACS) Quality and Safety Conference VIRTUAL earlier this week. We wanted to make sure that you are aware of several sessions that focused specifically on Quality Improvement (QI).

  • PS01. The QI Toolbox
  • PS26. Quality Improvement Basics: Using Data to Drive Quality
  • PS30. Building a Quality Improvement Program: The Fundamentals and Practical Solutions from the Field
  • PS48. Aligning ACS Cancer Program Quality Initiatives with Your Hospital Quality Priorities

As required by Standard 7.3 of the Commission on Cancer’s (CoC) Optimal Resources for Cancer Care (2020 Standards), under the guidance of the Cancer Liaison Physician (CLP), the Quality Improvement Coordinator and the cancer committee, cancer programs must measure, evaluate and improve their performance through at least one cancer-specific quality improvement initiative each year.

If you missed these sessions live, you may still view the On-Demand sessions, at no charge, at the ACS Quality and Safety Conference website. Registration is required and provides you with access to all the conference sessions. When viewing the Conference Agenda page, click on the Panel Session link to view all of the QI sessions listed above. In addition, you can view all of the ACS Cancer Programs sessions by clicking the Cancer link under Topics of Interest. The On-Demand sessions will be available for viewing through the end of the year
