Synoptic Operative Report Weekly Updates: ACS Synoptic Operative Report Templates Now Available for CoC-Accredited Facility Designated Contacts

Synoptic operative reporting templates developed by the American College of Surgeons Cancer Surgery Standards Program (CSSP) for the documentation of breast cancer, colon cancer, and melanoma surgery are now available to facility-designated contacts at Commission on Cancer-accredited programs. Viewing the CSSP synoptic operative reporting templates will help CoC-accredited cancer programs determine how they want to implement synoptic operative reports at their site. Access is limited to contacts at CoC-accredited programs. NAPBC and NAPRC contacts will not have access unless those contacts also have one of the roles listed below at a CoC-accredited program.

Available alongside the templates is a short video demonstrating the functionality of a synoptic operative reporting tool built from the CSSP synoptic operative reporting templates. This demonstration should give users an idea of how the tool would function if integrated within the EMR, whether integrated directly by the EMR, by a third-party vendor, or through individual tools developed at CoC-accredited cancer programs.

The following roles at CoC-accredited cancer programs have access to the templates:

  • Registrars
  • Co-Registrars
  • Administrators
  • Cancer Liaison Physicians
  • Cancer Committee Chairs
  • Cancer Conference Coordinators
  • Quality Improvement Coordinators
  • Cancer Registry Quality Coordinators
  • Clinical Research Coordinators

Contacts MUST be listed as these roles in Datalinks to have access. Instructions for managing staff contacts can be found on the About CoC Datalinks page. Please allow five days for processing newly added contacts.

Access is provided through the ACS Learning Management System (LMS). To view the templates, log in to your ACS account using the same login credentials you use for CoC Datalinks or if you are a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Please use the "Forgot your username or password?" function if you need to recover your credentials.
