The Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) is pleased to announce the updated edition of the Optimal Resources for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (2026 Standards).
The Standards Manual outlines the requirements that facilities must meet to achieve MBSAQIP accreditation. This accreditation offers guidance for building the necessary infrastructure and expertise to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality care for all metabolic and bariatric patients. These updated standards outline essential elements for resources, processes, data collection, quality improvement, and patient safety. They reflect current best practices and help centers provide evidence-based care aligned with MBSAQIP expectations.
