Mr Yazan Masannat is a Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon based in London and Essex, United Kingdom. He is a Consultant Breast Surgeon at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust and practises privately in London, including at The London Clinic on Harley Street. His clinical practice focuses on breast cancer surgery, oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, breast reconstruction, axillary surgery and surgical innovation. His academic interests include breast cancer surgery, localisation techniques, oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery, surgical education, simulation and emerging minimally invasive and robotic approaches. Mr Masannat is a Visiting Associate Professor at Anglia Ruskin University and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications and has contributed to major collaborative breast cancer research programmes and research grants. He serves as Meetings Secretary and Trustee of the Association of Breast Surgery in the United Kingdom and is a member of the International Committee of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. He is also involved in national guideline development, postgraduate education and surgical examination. He is the founder of iBreastBook, an international educational platform providing free breast surgery and breast cancer education to healthcare professionals worldwide. The platform has delivered more than 90 webinars and reached participants from over 100 countries. Mr Masannat has a particular interest in developing international collaboration, multidisciplinary breast cancer care and the safe introduction of new surgical technologies. In recognition of his contribution to clinical care, research and education, he received a UK National Clinical Excellence Award in 2025.
