Biography

Hi, I'm Edi, and I'm a General Surgeon. I am specialising in Breast Surgical Oncology, but I am also passionate about Gynecologic Oncology and Thyroid Cancer. I have a PhD from the Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Cluj-Napoca, Romania). I worked as an Assistant Lecturer for the Department of Surgical Oncology and Gynecologic Oncology of the aforementioned University. Currently, I am a Breast Surgical Oncology and Clinical Research Fellow at Champalimaud Clinical Centre’s Breast Unit (Lisbon, Portugal). I am working under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maria-João Cardoso, Head Breast Surgeon and Chief Investigator of the CINDERELLA Clinical Trial. I am involved in various professional societies, on the look out for better ways to harness Social Media and Artificial Intelligence to advance surgical oncology and help cancer patients. Surgical research, surgical oncology education and mentorship in countries with limited resources are areas where I would like to make an impact.
