Biography

Hassan R. Hashmi, MD, FACS is a colorectal and general surgeon with Las Vegas Surgical Associates in Las Vegas, Nevada. His clinical practice focuses on minimally invasive, robotic, laparoscopic, and open colorectal surgery, complex abdominal surgery, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, anorectal disorders, and endoscopy. Dr. Hashmi is committed to advancing surgical quality, education, innovation, and patient-centered care. His professional interests include colorectal cancer prevention and screening, global surgery, rural surgical access, surgical education, quality improvement, and the thoughtful integration of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, into surgical practice. He currently serves on the American College of Surgeons Committee on Global Engagement (HOPE Advocacy Subcommittee), the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons International Committee, and the Robotic Steering Committee at San Martin Hospital. He enjoys collaborating with colleagues nationally and internationally to improve access to high-quality surgical care and strengthen surgical education. Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Hashmi enjoys landscape photography, travel, and mentoring the next generation of surgeons.
