Biography

Christopher Childers, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery at the University of Washington and Fred Hutch Cancer Center. He completed general surgery residency at UCLA and surgical oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He received a PhD in Health Policy & Management from the Fielding School of Public Health. His clinical practice includes broad application of open, laparoscopic, and robotic techniques to pancreatic, liver, and biliary tract malignancies. His research focuses on healthcare finance with a focus on physician compensation and the RVU system. He has received federal funding from AHRQ and his work has been featured in journals including JAMA, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Annals of Surgery, and JAMA-Surgery.
