Dr. Picon, Graduated from University of Los Andes, Venezuela. He is a general surgeon and surgical oncologist. He completed his training in general surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Mount Sinai-Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. He completed the International Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and a travelling fellowship in Japan at the National Cancer Hospital, Tokyo. He is currently the Associate Program Director of the general surgery program, Clerkship Site Director for Columbia University medical students and the Director of Surgical Oncology at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. He was awarded with the Educator of the Year Award in 2014 and Attending of the Year Award in 2016, 2020 and 2023. He is interested in surgical education and the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies. He is also a triathlete and an “Ironman" and he has participated in full Ironman triathlon races in five continents.
