The most distinguished graduate of Allama Iqbal Medical College of the year 1985 Has had his fellow ship in surgery from the College Of Physicians And Surgeon Pakistan, Royal College Of Surgeons Edinburgh , Royal College Of Surgeons Glassgow ,And American College Of Surgeons , He has Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery From University Of Strasberg France , And Certification In Robotic Surgery From University Of Cambridge . To his credit he has performed 4972 laparoscopic surgeries and 383 robotic surgeries , with a robotic console time of 266 hours .
Spanning a surgical and academic career of 40 years ,and after holding professorial and administrative positions ,like Principal of Services Institute Of Medical Science and Director General Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority ,he is currently serving as a Vice Chancellor of the oldest and most prestigious medical university of subcontinent King Edward medical university and the first Pakistani to currently serve on the Board of Governors, American College Of Surgeons. He has been a National
color of Pakistan Junior Hockey team .Being a councillor of the College Of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan he looks after the National Residency Program of the college . Apart from his interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery , he has his special interest in Robotic surgery , Artificial intelligence , Genome Sequencing and Biobanking and recently has been credited with establishing the first school of artificial intelligence ,Gene Sequencing and a Biobank Facility at King Edward Medical university. Under his leader ship , the King Edward Medical university has established two clinical trial units and has been given the most coveted status of CRO (Contract Research Organization) by DRAP ( Drug Regulatory Authority Of Pakistan .
He is the first graduate of Allama Iqbal Medical College , to become a professor of surgery , A principal of a medical college and a Vice Chancellor of a medical university . For his Services in the field of medical education and surgery , he has been awarded in succession thrice
the academic excellence award by the Governor of Punjab in 2023 , 2024 and 2025 , and Sitara e Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan in 2024 .
