Biography

Dr. H. Reza Zahiri is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of EliteCare Surgical Specialists. He is a surgeon in North Bethesda, Maryland. He received his medical degree from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his general surgery training at University of Maryland with additional Fellowship training in advanced minimally invasive surgery at Anne Arundel Medical Center. He is an expert in utilization and delivery of cutting-edge robotic surgeries. He has been in practice 9 years, specializing in abdominal wall reconstruction for complex hernia disease. He utilizes robotic and laparoscopic surgeries to deliver the latest care to patients with simple and complex hernia diseases including inguinal, umbilical, incisional and recurrent hernias. Gastrointestinal surgeries are an additional area of his expertise. He uses robotics to perform corrective surgery for hiatal hernias, chronic reflux disease, recurrent diverticulitis, colon and small intestinal polyps, and recurrent bowel obstruction to name a few. Finally, he is an expert in combining surgery with the latest care pathways including Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), to enhance patients experience and reduce patients' opioid use during and after surgery. Ninety percent of his patients only require over-the-counter Tylenol and Ibuprofen after major surgeries.
