Biography

Dr. Kumar serves as the Clinical Education Director of Surgery for the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine of Washington State University. She also directs the Scholarly Projects curricular requirement for the MD program. Prior to this position, she had been recruited from a busy, academic hospital in Washington DC, to initiate and direct a Colon and Rectal Surgery program at Virginia Mason Medical Center in her home town of Seattle, WA. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Areas(s) of Expertise Colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, minimally invasive surgery, fecal incontinence and pelvic floor disorders, anorectal disorders Special Interest(s) Dr. Kumar specializes in surgery of the colon, rectum and anus.
