Biography

Dr. Fisher is an assistant professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology. A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Medicine, Dr. Fisher earned her MD magna cum laude in 2009. She completed her general surgical internship and residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2016, during which time she spent two years pursuing translational and clinical research projects in multiple areas of Surgical Oncology and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research. Having recently completed her Surgical Oncology and Surgical Endocrinology fellowships at MD Anderson, her focus will be in melanoma and endocrine surgery, and specifically developing these service lines in the Houston area locations. Her research interests involve the improvement of cancer staging, as illustrated in her current project evaluating staging for adrenocortical cancer.
