I was introduced to mission work overseas by my parents, who started our NGO Memphis Mission of Mercy in 1999, when I was a pre-medical student. I decided to go into medicine as a result of this experience and became a general surgeon for the purpose of service. I am passionate about serving the underserved, and inviting others into the joys of the work. I am blessed to be a part of an organization that lets me do this work here in Memphis, TN, initially at the Church Health Center from 2013-1016, while continuing to serve overseas in the Philippines with my family. I have also worked with partners in Haiti, Honduras and Nicaragua with Light of the World Charities and now serve as an Associate Professor of Surgery and Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
