Babak Azizzadeh, MD, FACS, is a Harvard-trained, double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and Clinical Chief of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Cedars-Sinai. He is globally recognized for deep plane facelift, revision facelift, facial reanimation, and facial nerve reconstruction. Dr. Azizzadeh is widely regarded as one of the foremost authorities on deep plane facelift surgery, facial nerve disorders, facial paralysis, and synkinesis, having pioneered selective neurolysis and advanced techniques in facial reanimation. His clinical practice focuses on complex facial nerve reconstruction, deep plane facelift surgery, revision cosmetic procedures, and advanced rhinoplasty. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Azizzadeh has authored and edited multiple leading textbooks in facial plastic surgery—including Master Techniques in Facial Rejuvenation, Master Techniques in Rhinoplasty (two volumes), and several multispecialty surgical texts. His academic contributions include extensive peer-reviewed publications, national and international invited lectureships, and leadership roles across major surgical societies. Dr. Azizzadeh serves as President of the Sir Charles Bell Society and President-Elect of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, where he plays a leading role in shaping education, global outreach, and innovation within the field. He directs one of the nation’s premier facial plastic surgery fellowship programs and is committed to training the next generation of surgeons. In addition to his academic and clinical work, Dr. Azizzadeh is the founder of the Facial Paralysis & Bell’s Palsy Foundation and participates in global reconstructive missions. His work has been widely featured in major media outlets, and he is recognized internationally for combining surgical mastery, deep anatomical expertise, and a patient-centered approach with an unwavering commitment to safety.
