Biography

Lillian Kao, MD, MS, MBA, FACS is Professor and Chief of the Division of Acute Care Surgery and one of two Vice Chairs of Quality in the Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston). She is the co-founder and co-director of the Center for Surgical Trials and Evidence-based Practice (C-STEP) and faculty for the Masters Program in Clinical Research at UTHealth Houston. She is a past Chair of the ACS Board of Governors. Her interests are in generating and implementing evidence-based interventions to improve the quality of surgical care.
