Dr. Doucet is a trauma, general, and critical care surgeon. He is board-certified in surgery, surgical critical care, and neurocritical care. He lives in Naples, Florida. He completed training as a general surgeon in 1997. He has 22 years of military medical service with the RCAF, including six years on exchange with the US Navy and six overseas tours, including three tours in Afghanistan as a combat surgeon with NATO & US forces. He completed his trauma fellowship at UC San Diego in 2003 and has been a faculty trauma surgeon at LA County+USC Medical Center and Vancouver General Hospital/University of British Columbia. Dr Doucet joined the UC San Diego Trauma Division in March 2007, where he is a voluntary professor in the Department of Surgery at UC San Diego. From 2018 to 2025, he was in the Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, Burns, and Acute Care Surgery where he was Professor and Chief. He is also credentialed in ultrasound by ARDMS. He is a commercial airplane pilot and flight instructor. Dr. Doucet practices acute care surgery, including blunt, penetrating, and vascular trauma, and emergency general surgery. He also practices surgical critical care. Dr. Doucet also performs elective general surgery, including robotic procedures.
