Souzan El-Eid, MD, FACS:
EDUCATION
Dr. El-Eid received her medical degree in 1990 from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha. She completed her internship at Yale New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael in New Haven, Connecticut, her general surgery residency at Nassau University in Long Island, New York and a critical care fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
EXPERIENCE
Dr. Souzan El-Eid is a breast surgeon with Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) and serves as the Summerlin Breast Center Director at Summerlin Hospital. Dr. El-Eid is currently the co-chair of the Cancer Committee and the Breast Tumor Board at Summerlin Hospital. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor of General Surgery at Touro University Nevada and has served as principal investigator for several clinical research studies at CCCN.
Recently, Dr. El-Eid was an instructor at the American Society of Breast Surgeons’ 15th Annual Meeting, teaching a class on Breast Ultrasound and Stereotactic Breast Biopsy. She was also invited by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ACSO) to review and publish a clinical practice guideline on surgical margins for breast-conserving surgery with whole-breast irradiation in stage I and II invasive breast cancer. The data was published by the Journal of Clinical Oncology in spring 2014.
Additionally, Dr. El-Eid serves on various medical committees, co-authors numerous publications about breast cancer and breast diseases and frequently gives presentations and lecturers about breast cancer to the public and physicians.
Dr. El-Eid has been named “Top Doctor” by Las Vegas Life and Desert Companion, “Medical Marvels” by Nevada Business Magazine, “Top Breast Surgeon” by HealthTap, and “America’s Most Compassionate Doctor” as chosen by PatientsChoice.org. She has been recognized as “Top Surgeon” from Consumers’ Research Council of America for two consecutive years and received the Cancer Liaison Physician, Outstanding Performance Award from the American College of Surgeons in 2006.
