Biography

Practice is limited to ocular oncology, orbital oncology and associated diseases. This includes but is not limited to choroidal melanoma, retinoblastoma, metastatic ocular tumors, eye lid tumors, conjunctival malignancies, iris tumors, and vascular tumors of the eye and orbit. Dr. Finger is director of ophthalmic oncology at The New York Eye Cancer Center, The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and NYU School of Medicine. Dr. Finger is Chair of The American Joint Committee - International Union Against Cancer (AJCC-UICC) Task Force for Ophthalmic Oncology. Dr. Finger was elected to The Committee on Cancer (COC) of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Finger Chaired the committee to develop consensus guidelines for ophthalmic plaque brachytherapy for choroidal melanoma and retinoblastoma for the American Brachytherapy Society. Dr. Finger headed the clinical section of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Task Group 129, that developed standards for plaque construction and dosimetry as well as quality assurance.
